Located on the engine's timing case, the vacuum pump is essential for providing the necessary vacuum to operate your brake booster. This pump creates negative pressure, which gives you power assistance when you apply the brakes, making it much easier to slow down your heavy 4x4.
A failing vacuum pump is a serious safety issue. You might notice an oil leak from the pump, or more dangerously, a hard or stiff brake pedal that requires much more effort to push. Ignoring this can lead to a complete loss of brake assistance, dramatically increasing your stopping distance and posing a significant risk, especially when towing or descending steep tracks.
This pump is a direct replacement for the style of pump with a round body. It is not suitable for the earlier ZD30 Direct Injection (Di) engine. Please contact us with your VIN if you are unsure which pump your vehicle requires.
