This Tacho Sensor is located on the injector pump of your TD42 engine. It is responsible for reading the engine's rotational speed (RPM) and sending that signal to the tachometer on your instrument cluster.
A replacement is often required when your factory tachometer stops working, becomes intermittent, or provides erratic readings, such as a bouncing needle. This is a common failure point due to age, heat, and vibration in the engine bay.
If you don't replace a faulty tacho sensor, you will be unable to accurately monitor your engine's speed.
