This kit is designed to be fitted to the front differential mounting points on the chassis of your vehicle. It is a crucial upgrade for any lifted Nissan Patrol Y62 with independent front suspension. When you lift your vehicle, the angle of the Constant Velocity (CV) joints on the front driveshafts becomes significantly steeper. This kit installs spacers between the differential and the chassis, effectively lowering the differential to correct these angles.
Drops the front diff by approx 40mm
By correcting the CV joint geometry, this diff drop kit reduces the excessive strain placed on the joints and their protective rubber boots. If you lift your Y62 Patrol without correcting the CV angles, you risk accelerated wear and tear. This can lead to torn CV boots, leaking grease, and ultimately, the premature failure of the CV joint itself, which often presents as a clicking sound during turns or vibrations while driving. A complete failure can leave you stranded on the side of the road or, worse, on a remote track.
