This is a Genuine Nissan gearbox input shaft seal, designed as a direct replacement for GQ GU Patrols models fitted with RB30 and RD28 engines and all D22 Navara Vehicles and some D21. This critical seal is located at the front of the gearbox, where the input shaft enters the transmission housing, preventing oil from leaking out of the bell housing.
Over time, the original rubber seal perishes, hardens, and cracks due to constant heat cycles, which is the primary cause of gearbox oil leaks from the front of the transmission. Replacing this seal is a major workshop job as it requires the complete removal of the gearbox. Due to the significant labour involved, we strongly recommend inspecting and replacing the clutch and the engine's rear main seal at the same time to avoid future issues. You will also require fresh gearbox oil to complete the job.
