Its job is to use hydraulic pressure from your brake pedal to push the brake shoes outwards against the drum, stopping your vehicle. It’s a simple part, but one you absolutely can't afford to have fail.

NOTE - Please check to see what brand cylinder you have on your vehicle, as they will be either Nabco or Akebono. This cylinder suits Nabco only. If you have a later model GU, then you most likely have Akebono, which is a different cylinder to this one.
