This bush is located at the top mounting point of the rear shock absorber, where it connects to the vehicle's chassis. The original rubber bushes perish, split, and get crushed from constant movement and exposure to the elements. A worn or failed bush stops the shock absorber from working correctly and can cause a lot of noise.
If you don't replace a flogged-out rear shock bush, you'll hear a distinct knocking or clunking sound from the back of your ute or wagon, especially when driving over uneven ground. This compromises your vehicle's handling and ride quality, can lead to premature tyre wear, and in severe cases, may damage the shock absorber or its mounting point on the chassis.
31mm OD, 18mm ID, 21mm thick
