This high-performance intercooler kit is a larger upgraded replacement for the factory top-mounted intercooler fitted to the Nissan Patrol GU Y61 equipped with the ZD30 Common Rail (CRD) engine. It is designed to provide a significant upgrade in cooling efficiency and durability.

The standard factory intercooler on the ZD30 CRD engine is a known weak point, especially on vehicles that have been tuned, are used for towing, or see heavy off-road use. It can struggle to adequately cool the charge air from the turbocharger, leading to increased intake temperatures. This results in reduced engine performance, poor fuel economy, and dangerously high Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs).
