This is the speedo sensor that is located on the drivers side of the transfer case on 4wd models.
This is what the speedo on the dash cluster picks up off to work out the vehicle speed.
If you speedo is not working it is possible that it could be a faulty sensor.
Note: This sensor does NOT suit 19 tooth gear.
