This is the engine's main cooling fan blade, which bolts to the viscous hub directly behind your radiator. The plastic used in these fans becomes brittle from constant heat cycles in the engine bay. It's common for blades to develop stress fractures or break off completely, especially on vehicles that work hard or have a few k's on them.
A failed fan blade is a serious problem. If one or more blades break off, the fan becomes dangerously unbalanced, which can destroy your viscous hub and water pump bearings. Worse, the broken piece can be thrown into your radiator, punching a hole in the core and causing a massive coolant leak. This will leave you stranded with an overheating engine and a hefty repair bill.
** There are 2 sizes of Fan Blades to suit the GQ TB42.
The early ones are supposed to measure 101mm from one mounting hole to the next
(the bolts that mount the blades to the viscous hub)
The later ones (Typically EFI) are supposed to be 95mm from one bolt hole to the next.
