This intercooler mounting sleeve is located at the front and rear of the intercooler support frame where it mounts to the radiator support panel and firewall. These sleeves are fitted to the rubber vibration mounts and prevent the mounts from compressing when tightening the mounting bolts.
Usually, these sleeves get lost during maintenance. If they're not refitted the mounts get compressed and the vibration dampening effect is lost.
