Design and Development:

ARB’s Summit Sahara Winch Bar for the Series 4 Y62 is now in production. The Summit Sahara bar for the Series 4 Y62 is compatible with both winch fitment and the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system and suits both the Ti and Ti-L trim specifications.

To ensure compatibility with both the Ti and Ti-L models the Summit bar platform features provision for the following:

• Headlight washer provision (blanking plugs provided for Ti model)
• Front parking sensors provision
• Relocation of Intelligent Cruise Control
• Relocation of Around View Monitor® front camera

To allow both ICC and winch fitment the integrated control box mount is lifted slightly compared to a standard Summit bar platform to provide the necessary clearances.

• Two aerial brackets located on the top of the optional centre tube. Provision on the centre pan of the bar if no centre tube fitted. • Will accommodate Warn, Magnum, Bushranger, Smittybilt low mount model electric winches up to 12,000lb. Supplementary winch installation kit required to install winch control box.
• Compatible with Winch Roller Fairlead Cover 3500855.
• Provision to accommodate ARB Intensity LED’s and a range of Bushranger and IPF lights.
• Provision for OE parking sensors and Intelligent Cruise Control.

• Approximate weight of the bar, chassis mounts and fitting kit is 84kg. Approximately 16kg is removed from the vehicle for fitment.

• Finished in satin black powder coat with the option to colour code to vehicle colour.

Wing to guard intersection:

Fitment of the Y62 Summit Sahara Bar is a full bumper replacement. Whilst previous ARB Y62 bars used an infill piece fitted to the wing of the bar to finish this section off, the new Summit Sahara Bar features a full welded steel wing to fill this section.

Buffers, Split Pan Grill and Fog Light Surround:

The Summit Sahara Bar for the Y62 features two piece buffers, split pan grill and ARB Fog Light surround that suits fitment of either of the ARB large fog light options. All three components are designed to integrate with each other and the bar design.

The upright section of the two piece buffer has a style line to complement the fog light surround. The intersection of the 62.6mm press formed cover strap and buffer is covered by an intersection cap to neatly finish the pressed form cover strap.

To provide access to winch clutch handles and to assist with valuable air flow to the radiator the split pan has a three piece grill for an integrated, OE style appearance.

Dual doors allow access to winch clutch handles and to assist with driving light fitment and adjustment.

Fog Lights:

ARB’s Summit Sahara bar for the Patrol features ARB’s fog light surround that accepts both ARB’s halogen fog light, part number 3500590 and the newly released ARB LED fog light part number 3500910 (refer PIB 936). The surround is supplied standard with a screw in cover if no fog light is to be fitted.

ARB Auxiliary Fog Light Loom Part number 3500530 is required if fitting the ARB Fog Light 3500590, ARB Auxiliary Light Loom part number 3500520 is required for the 3500910 LED fog light. The fog light surround is supplied in a natural black finish to complement the buffer design. A clear fog light cover has been developed separately under part number 3500680.

Parking Sensors:

Laser cut provision is provided in the lower pan and each wing for the Original Equipment front parking sensors. OE parking sensors have been mapped and their performance closely replicated when fitted to the Y62.

The outer forward facing parking sensors are located approximately 15mm lower and 50mm further inboard, inner sensors are located approximately 5mm higher than the OE condition. The angle of the ARB parking sensor surround replicates as close as practical the original sensor coverage.

When fitted with larger diameter tyres these parking sensor positions and hence range may also be affected. Further real world testing has been conducted evaluating the operation of the sensors against such items as rubbish bins, parking bollards, wire fences, large rocks and step driveway entrances. Test results show that sensor performance is replicated as close as practical with the change in height of the sensors location.

Painting of parking sensors is not recommended due to the potential unknown effect on operation of the sensors.

Intelligent Cruise Control and Around View Monitor®:

ARB’s Summit Sahara bar for the Y62 is compatible with both the Ti and the Ti-L trim specifications. Both models are fitted with front parking sensors and Intelligent Around-View Monitor.

The Ti-L model also features Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Collison Warning and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) amongst other additional safety features.

To allow relocation of the ICC module the front camera is relocated approximately 140mm from centre in the split pan grill. Note that this will slightly alter the viewpoint.

Full adjustment of the ICC module is retained and is accessed through the split pan. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the Intelligent cruise control module is easily done in its central location. The 3927040 bar fitting kit includes all necessary bracketry and instructions to relocate the ICC unit.

Please ensure that customers are aware that driver assistance features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s judgement. Full ICC or other safety feature functions may not operate in some driving conditions and road conditions or adverse weather.

Headlight Washers:

Relocation of the Ti-L headlight washers is provided in the wings of the Summit Sahara bar. Blanking plugs are provided for the Ti model without Xenon headlights.

Pressed Top Pan and Winch Cover:

The top pan of the Summit range of bars feature a press form to add strength and a 4mm aluminium press formed winch cover panel, for when no winch is being fitted. When fitted, the winch cover panel is recessed in the press form top pan to give a level and integrated appearance.

The cover is supplied in a satin black powder coat finish.

Antenna Mounts:

Two aerial mounts are welded to the centre cross tube to allow fitment of UHF/AM radio, mobile phone aerials/antennas or sand flags. Provision is on the centre pan when no centre tube kit is fitted.
Due to the Y62’s Lane Keeping Aid it is recommended that white antennas are not fitted due to their potential effect on operation of the system.

Driving Light Mounts:

The press formed top pan includes laser cut holes for fitment of a range of compatible driving lights including ARB Intensity, Bushranger and IPF 800, 808 and 900 Series lights.

Pinning holes for ARB Intensity lights are included.

Jack Points:

ARB Jack or Hi-Lift jack points are located directly below the buffers.

The jack point is welded directly to the upright on either side and is designed to prevent the jack from interfering with the buffer.

Winch Model Fitment:

The following winches fit the Y62 ARB Summit Sahara Winch bar:

• Warn M8000, XD9000, 9.5XP, 9.5XDC
• Warn ZEON 8, 8-S, 10, 10-S, 12 and 12-S
• Warn ZEON Platinum 10, 10-S,12 and 12-S
• Current Warn Magnum 8, 10, 10-S, 12 and 12-S
• Smittybilt Gen2 X20 10K.
• Bushranger Revo 10, DV-9TH, Seal 9.5TH

Please note that not all winches on the market will have corresponding control box mount holes pre-drilled.

Additional fit kits are required depending on the winch being fitted:

• 3527060 WINCH INSTALL KIT | SUITS Y62 3427030. This kit includes flip up number plate bracket and necessary fasteners.
• Warn ZEON and ZEON Platinum fitment require Warn part No W89965 Short Wiring Kit.
• Warn ZEON Platinum fitment may require Warn part No W94288 Enhanced Signal Kit.
• 3500600 for Hawse Fairlead fitment.
• 3500410 XDC Control Box bracket
