This ARB Diff Lock Engagement Ring is a critical internal service component designed for ARB Air Locker differential assemblies. It is located inside the differential carrier and is the part that physically slides across to engage the side gear, effectively locking the differential and forcing both axles to turn at the same speed for maximum traction in off-road conditions.
Replacement is typically required due to wear and tear from extensive use, damage from improper locker engagement (such as engaging while a wheel is spinning), or internal contamination causing premature wear. An inferior part made with weaker materials or poor tolerances can fail to engage or, worse, disintegrate under load, causing catastrophic damage to expensive gears and bearings inside the differential.
