This bonded seal is a critical component fitted to the differential housing where the air supply line enters the ARB Air Locker unit. It is a high-pressure seal specifically designed to create a perfect, leak-free connection, keeping the differential gear oil in. This seal is essential when installing a new ARB Air Locker or when servicing the air locker due to a leak or damage.
A worn, damaged, or incorrectly installed seal will fail, causing a differential oil leak. If left unattended, the resulting low oil level will lead to inadequate lubrication, causing rapid wear and catastrophic failure of the differential's internal gears and the expensive Air Locker mechanism. Water ingress from creek crossings can also occur, which will contaminate the oil and quickly destroy bearings and gears, resulting in a very costly repair.
