This extension bracket is fitted to the rear left-hand (small) barn door on your Nissan Patrol GU Y61 wagon. It directly replaces the factory door check strap bracket, allowing the door to open to a much wider angle.
If you have fitted an aftermarket rear bar with a wheel carrier, you will often find that the small barn door can no longer open fully, as it hits the tyre. This bracket solves that problem by extending the door's opening range, allowing it to swing clear of the carrier and provide unrestricted access to your cargo area.
Without this modification, the rear door will constantly collide with your spare wheel carrier.
