This fan blade bolts directly to the viscous fan hub clutch, located behind your radiator. Its primary role is to pull a massive amount of air through the radiator core, which is essential for cooling your engine, especially at low speeds or when stationary. The original plastic fan can become brittle from years of heat cycles under the bonnet, leading to cracks. Failure to replace a cracked fan can be catastrophic; a broken blade can destroy the radiator, fan shroud, and hoses, or even punch a hole through your bonnet, leaving you stranded with an overheated engine.
** There are 2 sizes of Fan Blades to suit the GQ TB42.
The early ones are supposed to measure 101mm from one mounting hole to the next
(the bolts that mount the blades to the viscous hub)
The later ones (Typically EFI) are supposed to be 95mm from one bolt hole to the next.
However, this is not a very solid rule and can very regularly be incorrect.
The safest method is to measure yours before ordering.
These ones are the Larger Bolt spacing (101mm) to suit the Early Model TB42 Engines before 1991.
