The viscous fan hub is fitted to the front of the engine's water pump and is what your main cooling fan blade bolts to. Its job is to control when the fan engages to pull air through the radiator. When they fail, the internal silicone fluid either leaks out or breaks down, preventing the fan from locking up and spinning at the correct speed. If you don't replace a faulty viscous hub, your engine will overheat, especially under load or at low speeds. This can lead to serious and expensive engine damage, such as a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head.
There are 2 different measurements for the TB42 Viscous Hub, the difference is where the hub bolts to the fan blades, these blades measure 101mm from one hole to the next.
