This is the heater hose that connects the inlet / intake manifold to the Thermostat Housing on the engine.

Over time, rubber hoses become hard and brittle. This makes them weaker and prone to cracking, causing your vehicle to lose water and overheat. Generally, if one hose goes, it is possible for others to go soon after, so it's a good idea to replace your other Radiator and heater hoses at the same time.
