This Genuine Nissan Clock Spring, also referred to as a Body Combination Switch, is located in the steering column directly behind the steering wheel. It is a spiral wound rotary connecter which allows the steering wheel to turn while still making electrical contact between the steering wheel horn and airbag and other electrical devices.
If a faulty clock spring is not replaced, it will result in critical safety and convenience systems failing. Most importantly, the driver's airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident. You will also lose the function of your horn, cruise control, and any steering wheel-mounted radio or phone buttons, often accompanied by an SRS or airbag warning light on your dashboard.
