This copper washer is fitted to the rear oil fitting on the vacuum pump of a TD42 'Blacktop' engine. These are single-use crush washers designed to create a perfect seal when tightened. If you are removing the vacuum pump or its fittings for any reason, this washer must be replaced to prevent leaks. Re-using the old, compressed washer will result in a messy and persistent oil leak from the fitting.
