Genuine Nissan HandBrake Shoes - Nissan Patrol Y60 GQ & Y61 GU

Genuine Nissan HandBrake Shoes - Nissan Patrol GQ & GU

These are the Shoes in the Handbrake drum on the back of the transfercase. These genuine handbrake shoes act as the primary friction component for your vehicle's parking brake system. Over time, the friction material on handbrake shoes wears down, reducing their ability to hold the vehicle securely, especially on hills. Replacing them is a critical maintenance item to ensure your parking brake functions correctly and safely.

A worn or failing handbrake can be extremely dangerous, as it may not be able to hold the vehicle's weight on an incline. This could lead to the vehicle rolling away unexpectedly, causing significant damage to your vehicle, other property, or even serious injury.

If you have had a leaking output seal it is common for the brake shoes to have oil soaked into them.
