Patrolapart Fan Blade ZD30 - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU

Fan Blade - Nissan Patrol GU Y61 ZD30CR Common Rail

Located at the front of the engine behind the radiator, the fan blade is a crucial part of your vehicle's cooling system. It bolts to the viscous fan hub and is responsible for pulling a high volume of air through the radiator fins. This action dissipates heat from the engine coolant, which is vital for maintaining optimal operating temperatures. For a 4x4 owner, especially one who subjects their Patrol to heavy loads, towing, or challenging low-speed off-road conditions, a fully functional fan blade is essential. Over time, the original plastic can become brittle from constant heat cycles, leading to cracks or blades breaking off, compromising cooling performance when you need it most.

Ignoring a cracked or damaged fan blade is a significant risk. A compromised blade reduces airflow, which can quickly lead to engine overheating, particularly under load. If a blade breaks off while the engine is running, it can cause catastrophic damage to the radiator, fan shroud, belts, and hoses, resulting in expensive repairs and leaving you stranded far from home.
