This A/C compressor is located in the engine bay and is driven by the engine's accessory belt. It is the heart of your vehicle's air conditioning system, responsible for compressing refrigerant and circulating it through the system to provide cool air to the cabin.
Over time, the original compressor can fail due to internal wear, clutch failure, or refrigerant leaks. A replacement is necessary when you experience a lack of cold air, strange noises when the A/C is on, or if the compressor clutch fails to engage.
There is a couple of different types of compressors available for a GQ, as most never came out of the factory with Air Conditioning. Please check the fittings in the attached photos to see if it will work for you. If you are unsure if this will work for you, please contact us first.
For Warranty Purposes it is required that the receiver dryer is to be replaced at the same time as the new compressor is, these are available separately in our online store.
Please check your A/C system to work out which Receiver Dryer is required, as there is 3 different options for a GQ Patrol.
Because they are mounted down low, they are prone to damage from mud and grit.
