This NPW viscous fan hub is a high-quality aftermarket replacement designed to suit Nissan Patrol Y60 GQ models equipped with the TB42E fuel-injected petrol engine. Located at the front of the engine, this hub bolts directly to the water pump, with the main radiator fan blade attaching to its face. It is a critical component of the cooling system, engineered specifically for models that use a 95mm fan blade.
The viscous hub's job is to engage and disengage the radiator fan based on engine temperature. These units typically fail when their internal silicone fluid leaks out or the internal clutch mechanism seizes. A common sign of a faulty hub is engine overheating, particularly at low speeds, in traffic, or when towing.
