Non-Genuine Left Hand Front Brake Backing Plate - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU S3+

Non-Genuine Left Hand Front Brake Backing Plate - Nissan Patrol GU Y61 Series 3 on

This brake backing plate, also known as a dust shield, is fitted to the front left-hand (Australian passenger side) wheel hub assembly, positioned behind the brake rotor. It serves as a crucial barrier, protecting your vehicle's essential braking components.

Over time, the original backing plate can become bent, damaged from off-road impacts, or severely rusted. A compromised backing plate can no longer effectively shield the brake system from harmful contaminants like rocks, mud, and water.

If a damaged or missing backing plate is not replaced, debris can lodge between the brake rotor and caliper. This can lead to grinding noises, accelerated wear on brake pads and rotors, and potentially seize the caliper or damage the ABS sensor, resulting in reduced braking efficiency and costly future repairs.
