This injector seal is fitted to the base of the fuel injector, creating a crucial seal against the cylinder head. These seals stop the Oil in the crank case running out past the injector Body. They are spring loaded to ensure they seal tight around the Injector body.
Over time, the original seals are subjected to immense heat and pressure, causing them to harden, compress, and fail. Replacing a worn or leaking injector seal is essential to maintain engine compression and prevent damaging gas leaks.
