Intake Air Temp Sensor - Nissan Navara D23 NP300 YS23TT

Intake Air Temp Sensor - Nissan Navara D23 NP300 YS23TT

This Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is located in your vehicle's air intake system, usually on the intercooler pipe before the throttle body. Its job is to measure the temperature of the air entering your engine. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) relies on this information to calculate air density, adjusting fuel delivery and ignition timing for correct performance. When this sensor fails, it sends incorrect data, leading to engine running issues.

A faulty IAT sensor can cause a range of problems, including reduced fuel economy, a rough idle, poor acceleration, and can even trigger a check engine light on your dash. Ignoring a failed sensor can result in the engine running too rich or too lean, affecting performance and potentially causing long-term engine component wear.
