Located in the cylinder head, these valve stem seals prevent excessive oil from entering the combustion chamber via the valve guides. This is a single seal for either the inlet or exhaust valve on your TD42 cylinder head.
Worn or hardened valve stem seals can lead to increased oil consumption, blue smoke from the exhaust, and fouled spark plugs. Ignoring this can eventually damage your catalytic converter and lead to engine failure.
