Genuine Nissan Weatherstrip Top Seal Wagon Barn Doors - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU

Genuine Nissan Weatherstrip Top Seal  Wagon Barn Doors - Nissan Patrol GU Y61

This weatherstrip is located across the top edge of the rear barn doors on your Nissan Patrol GU Y61 Wagon. Its function is to create a secure seal against water coming off the vehicles roof, preventing water, dust, and wind from entering the rear cargo area. Over time, the original rubber seal is exposed to the elements, causing it to perish, crack, and lose its flexibility. For any 4x4 owner, especially those who venture through dusty tracks or creek crossings, a compromised seal means a dirty, wet, and noisy cargo area, potentially damaging valuable gear.

Ignoring a faulty or worn-out top seal can lead to significant problems. Water ingress can cause rust to form along the door frames and in the floor of the cargo area, leading to costly body repairs. Persistent moisture can also damage interior trim panels and promote the growth of mould and mildew. A poor seal also allows dust and exhaust fumes to be drawn into the cabin, creating an unpleasant and unhealthy environment for you and your passengers.
