Genuine Nissan Timing Chain Guide Cam Tension YD25 - Nissan Navara D22 & D40

This is a Genuine Nissan timing chain guide for the camshafts, specifically designed for Nissan Navara D22 and D40 models fitted with the YD25 engine. This guide is located on the inner tension side of the engine's timing chain assembly. It presses against the chain that drives the camshafts, ensuring it operates smoothly and under the correct tension.

This component requires replacement when it becomes worn, cracked, or broken. A common symptom of a faulty guide is a distinct rattling noise from the engine, which is often most noticeable on startup. Using a genuine Nissan guide is critical for maintaining correct timing chain tension and preventing premature chain wear or failure, which can lead to catastrophic engine damage.

Installation Notes

Replacement of this timing chain guide is a complex workshop job that requires significant engine disassembly to access the timing components. This work should only be performed by an experienced mechanic with the appropriate tools and technical knowledge. When replacing any single timing component, it is best practice to replace the entire timing chain kit. This usually includes all chains, guides, tensioners, and relevant seals to ensure a complete and reliable repair.
