Genuine Nissan Rear Lower Barn Door Striker Latch Catch - Nissan Patrol Y60 GQ & Y61 GU

Genuine Nissan Rear Lower Barn Door Striker Latch Catch - Patrol GQ GU

This genuine striker is fitted to the body of the vehicle and acts as the catch for the lower latch on the main (left-hand side) rear barn door. It provides a secure anchor point for the door to lock onto, ensuring it remains firmly closed. This part is commonly needed when the original striker becomes worn down from years of use, causing the rear door to rattle or not close as tightly as it should.

If a worn striker is not replaced, it can lead to constant and annoying rattling from the rear of the vehicle. More seriously, it can compromise the effectiveness of the door's weather seal, allowing dust, fumes, and water to enter the cabin. In extreme cases, a worn striker could affect the door's ability to remain securely latched, posing a potential safety risk.
