Genuine Nissan Rear Differential Pinion Seal - Nissan Patrol GQ GU Late Model H233

This genuine Nissan pinion seal is fitted to the rear differential housing where the tailshaft (driveshaft) connects. It is a crucial component that seals the pinion gear shaft, preventing differential oil from leaking out and protecting the internal gears from contamination.

You may need to replace this seal if you notice signs of an oil leak around the front of the differential, or if oil has been flung up onto the underbody of your vehicle. A leaking pinion seal is a common issue that occurs as the original seal perishes or wears over time, and is a common reason for a vehicle to fail a roadworthy inspection.

The reason it only suits later model diffs is because they changed the surface to a machined surface, and the earlier ones didn't have a machined surface. This prevents the seal getting pushed in too far.
