Genuine Nissan Plastic Air Box Lid TD42 - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU

Genuine Nissan Plastic Air Box Lid - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU TD42T TD42TI

Located in the engine bay, the air box lid is the top cover that seals your air filter housing. The original plastic lid is exposed to constant engine heat, which can make it brittle. This often leads to the retaining clips snapping off or the main body of the lid cracking, preventing a proper seal.

If your air box lid isn't sealing correctly, it allows unfiltered air, dust, and water to bypass the filter and go directly into your engine. This can cause catastrophic damage to your turbo and cylinder bores, a condition known as 'dusting' your engine, which leads to very expensive repairs.
