Genuine Nissan Lower Rear Breather Hose Transfercase - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU

This genuine Nissan transfer case breather hose is a direct replacement for all GU Y61 Patrol models. It acts as the flexible rubber connection between the rigid metal breather pipes on the gearbox and the corresponding pipes on the chassis. This specific hose is the lower, rearmost one in the assembly.

Due to its proximity to the exhaust system, this hose is exposed to constant high temperatures. Over time, the original rubber can become hard, brittle, and crack, compromising the breather system. Replacing a worn or failed hose is essential for preventing water, mud, and dust from contaminating the transfer case fluid and causing internal damage.

Installation Notes

Installation is generally straightforward for a workshop or an experienced DIY mechanic, although access can be tight around the exhaust and crossmembers. While replacing this hose, it is good practice to inspect all other breather lines for signs of perishing. For vehicles that frequently perform water crossings, we strongly recommend fitting an extended breather hose kit for maximum protection. These kits raise the breather line termination points to a higher location on the vehicle, offering superior protection against water ingress.

If doing lots of river crossings it is recommended to fit extended breather hoses, which can bypass this hose.
