This genuine Nissan rear axle drive differential seal is located on each side of the rear diff housing that holds the oil into the diff, and the axle comes through it. It is designed to create a secure seal, preventing differential gear oil from leaking out while allowing the axle to rotate freely.

Over time, rubber seals can become hard, brittle, and crack due to age and constant heat cycles. This degradation can lead to gear oil leaks, identifiable by oil stains on the differential housing, on the ground under the rear of your vehicle, or flung around the undercarriage.
