Genuine Nissan Speedo Pinion Gear 17 Teeth (Black) - Nissan GU Patrol

This genuine Nissan speedometer pinion gear is located on the driver's side of the transfer case and is responsible for sending the vehicle's speed signal to the instrument cluster. It is common to need a new speedo gear after modifying your vehicle, particularly after fitting larger tyres. Changing the overall diameter of your tyres will cause your speedometer to read incorrectly. Installing the correct pinion gear helps recalibrate your speedometer, ensuring you have an accurate speed reading.

Driving with an inaccurate speedometer can be dangerous and may lead to inadvertent speeding, resulting in fines and demerit points. It also makes it difficult to judge your speed relative to traffic and posted speed limits, increasing the risk of an accident. Please note that a range of gears with different tooth counts (14-19) are available. Additional research is recommended to determine the exact gear required for your specific tyre size and differential setup.
