This is a genuine Nissan flywheel bolt for early model Nissan Navara D40 and Pathfinder R51 vehicles fitted with the YD25 engine. This high-tensile bolt is a critical component that secures the flywheel to the engine's crankshaft. As these bolts can stretch and weaken from constant heat and torque cycles, they are considered a single-use item and must be replaced whenever the clutch or flywheel is being serviced.
Using a new, genuine bolt is the only way to guarantee correct torque and clamping force, preventing catastrophic failure of the rotating assembly. Replacement is a major workshop job requiring the removal of the transmission to gain access. These bolts are sold individually, and eight are required per engine.
When replacing these bolts, it is highly recommended to also service the clutch, flywheel, spigot bearing, and the rear main crankshaft seal to save on significant labour costs down the track.
