Genuine Nissan Bonnet Catch Assy - Nissan Patrol Y61 GU S4

Genuine Nissan Bonnet Catch Assy - Patrol GU4 Y61 S4

This genuine Nissan bonnet catch assembly is located at the front of the vehicle, mounted to the radiator support panel. It is the primary mechanical latch that your bonnet locks into, keeping it securely closed. Replacement is often necessary due to wear and tear on the spring mechanism, damage from a minor frontal collision, or corrosion, which can prevent the bonnet from latching securely or being released properly.

Ignoring a faulty bonnet catch can have severe safety consequences. The worst-case scenario is the bonnet flying open while the vehicle is in motion, completely obstructing the driver's vision and potentially shattering the windscreen, which could lead to a major accident. A partially latched bonnet can also flutter at speed, causing damage to the paintwork, hinges, and the bonnet itself.
