This genuine Nissan spindle needle bearing is a direct-replacement part designed for 4WD models of the Nissan Navara D22. Located inside the front steering knuckle, its job is to support the CV shaft as it passes through. Two of these bearings are required per vehicle, one for each side, and they are sold individually.
A worn bearing will often cause a grinding or whining noise from the front wheels, which can worsen when 4WD is engaged. Using a genuine Nissan part for this job is crucial. Inferior aftermarket bearings often use lower-grade materials that lead to premature failure, allowing the CV shaft to move excessively. This can damage the CV stub and the inside of the steering knuckle, turning a simple bearing replacement into a much more expensive repair.
Replacing this bearing is a moderate to difficult task best suited to a workshop or experienced mechanic. The job requires the complete disassembly of the front hub and steering knuckle assembly. A bearing press or specialised tools are typically necessary to remove the old bearing and install the new one correctly without causing damage. As two are fitted per vehicle, we strongly recommend replacing them in pairs. It is also best practice to replace the related hub seals at the same time to ensure a complete and lasting repair.
