Genuine Nissan Air Filter Box Lid Clip RD28, TD42, ZD30 - Nissan Patrol Y60 GQ & Y61 GU

Air Filter Box Lid Clip - Genuine Nissan Y61 GU Patrol Diesel TD42 RD28 ZD30

This is the metal retaining clip that secures the lid of the air filter box on your diesel Y61 GU Patrol. These clips are under constant spring tension and are often exposed to the elements under the bonnet. They can fatigue, break, rust, or simply get lost during a filter change. A missing or broken clip means your airbox lid is not sealed.

If the airbox doesn't have a secure seal, your engine can suck in unfiltered air full of dust, grit, and water. This bypasses the air filter completely and can lead to what's known as 'dusting' the engine, causing catastrophic and expensive internal damage to pistons, rings, and cylinder bores.
