This is a Genuine Nissan hot-side intercooler pipe designed specifically for the Nissan Navara D40 and Pathfinder R51 models equipped with the V9X 3.0L V6 turbo diesel engine. This pipe is located on the left-hand (passenger side) of the engine bay and is responsible for carrying hot, compressed air from the turbocharger outlet to the inlet of the intercooler.
Due to constant exposure to high temperatures and boost pressure, the original rubber pipe can become brittle, leading to cracks and splits over time. A compromised pipe causes boost leaks, which can result in a noticeable loss of engine power, poor fuel economy, and a distinct hissing noise under acceleration. Installing a new genuine pipe is the correct way to restore your engine's performance and efficiency.
Installation is a straightforward task for a confident home mechanic with basic hand tools, or a quick job for a professional workshop. To ensure a complete and reliable repair, it is recommended to inspect the hose clamps on either end of the pipe. It may be a good time to replace them to guarantee a proper, leak-free seal.
