Coolant & Glow Plug Temperature Sensor - Nissan Patrol GQ GU Y62 VK56 TD42 ZD30 TB48

Located in the engine's cooling system, the Coolant Temperature Sensor is a critical component that measures the temperature of your engine's coolant. It relays this vital information to the Engine Control Unit (ECU), which then adjusts fuel mixture, ignition timing, and radiator fan operation for optimal performance. For a 4x4 owner, a properly functioning sensor is essential for engine reliability, especially when tackling tough terrain or towing heavy loads. A faulty sensor can lead to poor performance, increased fuel consumption, and hard starting, compromising your vehicle's dependability when you need it most.

This senses the temp of the engine to tell the glow plugs when to stop glowing on Diesel Engines, and on Petrol engines is gives the temperature to the ECU.

This sensor does not control the temperature reading on the dashboard

Please check the plug, as earlier GQ TD42 engines have a different plug and run a different sensor.

This sensor is on the later model GQ TD42 engines after August 1995 and all GU TD42 engines.
