Genuine Nissan 4WD Transfer Case Drive Chain - Nissan Patrol Y60 GQ & Y61 GU

4WD Transfer Case Drive Chain - Nissan Patrol GQ Y60 & GU Y61

Located inside your vehicle's transfer case, this drive chain is the core component that transfers power from the transmission to the front and rear driveshafts, enabling your 4-wheel drive system. Over years of use, especially in tough off-road conditions, the original chain can stretch. A stretched chain will slip on the internal sprockets, often causing a loud clunking or grinding noise when accelerating or shifting into 4WD. Replacing a worn or stretched chain is crucial to restoring reliable 4x4 performance and ensuring power is delivered smoothly to all four wheels.

Ignoring a stretched transfer case chain can lead to severe mechanical problems. Continued slippage will wear down the teeth on the drive and driven sprockets, causing more extensive and costly internal damage. If the chain fails completely, you will lose all 4WD capability, which could leave you stranded in a remote or challenging situation. In a worst-case scenario, a broken chain can destroy the transfer case housing, requiring a complete and expensive replacement of the entire unit.

TB48 is slightly different but they do interchange.
